Welcome

If you asked me 3 years ago if I would be a writing minor, I would have said, "I'm a STEM girly, I can't write". But boy was I wrong! Although I am still a STEM major, I did not realize the important of writing skills in research articles until my sophomore year of college. However, it took me a while to know what major and minors I truly wanted. It wasn't until about Spring 2023, where I overloaded myself with 3 science classes, and I hit a wall.
After that semester ended, I knew I had to take a break from STEM. I loved the subject but I knew I needed humanities minor to complement my gift for science. In a spur of the moment decision, I decided to sign up for 2 writing classes and I immediately ended up falling in love with writing.
Although I am still biology major, I am also a writing minor. I see writing as my way to communicate to the world who I am, including my passion for STEM. I believe writing is essential to communicating important information to the world, ranging from new scientific discoveries to finding out what I think about AI.
This website, Portfolio of a 21st Century Writer, is about how I navigate writing and adapt to new changes in our world. Thank you for joining me on this wild ride we call, 'life'!
Outside of Being a Writer
Before you even ask: no, I do not shut myself in the library 24/7 to write. And yes, I do have a life outside of writing. When I am not engaged in writing, I love to do the following: bake, read, workout (gym girly), participate in my sorority, hang out with friends/my boyfriend, and travel.
